Golden State Medical Transport LLC ("we", "us") provides non-emergency medical transportation in Southern California. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it and the choices you have. It covers our website (gsmedtransport.com), our transport request form, and calls, texts and emails with our team.

Information we collect

Contact details: name, phone number and email, including for anyone who requests a ride for someone else.
Trip details: pickup and drop-off addresses, dates and times, mobility needs such as wheelchair or gurney, stairs, equipment and any notes you give us.
Payment and coverage details: whether a ride is private pay or covered by a health plan or medical group, member and authorization numbers, and billing contact details. Our website does not collect payment card numbers.
Communications: records of calls, texts and emails with us. Calls may be recorded and transcribed for quality, training and accuracy. We use automated tools, including an AI phone assistant, to help answer calls and messages.
Website data: basic technical information such as browser type and pages visited, collected through cookies and similar tools.

How we use it

To schedule, dispatch and complete your transport, and to contact you about it.
To confirm coverage, get authorizations and bill health plans, medical groups, facilities or the responsible party.
To answer questions, send information you ask for and provide customer support.
To keep our service safe, meet legal and contract requirements, and improve our service.

Health information

Trip details can include health information, such as mobility needs or the facility you are traveling to or from. We use it only to provide and bill for your transport, and we share it only as described in this policy or as the law permits or requires, including HIPAA where it applies. Please do not send detailed medical information by text or through our website.

Text messages (SMS)

If you give us your mobile number and agree to receive texts, we may text you about your transport requests, such as booking links, ride confirmations, reminders, arrival updates and replies to your questions.

Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply.
Reply STOP to opt out at any time. Reply HELP for help, or call 213-222-6262.
Agreeing to receive texts is not a condition of any purchase or service.
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.
All of the sharing described in this policy excludes text messaging originator opt-in data and consent. This information will not be shared with any third parties.

How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only as needed to provide our service:

With health plans, medical groups, facilities and other payers, to confirm coverage, get authorizations and bill for rides.
With the person or facility that requested the ride for you, and with caregivers you ask us to keep informed.
With service providers that help us run our business, such as scheduling, routing and vehicle tracking, phone and messaging, email, website hosting and billing. They may use your information only to provide services to us.
When required by law, to protect the safety of passengers, staff or the public, or as part of a sale or reorganization of our business.

Cookies

Our website runs on Squarespace, which uses cookies for site function, security and basic analytics, such as Google Analytics. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, though some site features may not work without them. Our website does not respond to browser Do Not Track signals.

Your California privacy rights

If you live in California, you may ask what personal information we have about you and ask us to correct or delete it. We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We will not treat you differently for making a request. To make one, email dispatch@GSMedTransport.com or call 213-222-6262. We may need to verify your identity, and we must keep some records to meet legal, billing and contract requirements.

Security and retention

We use reasonable administrative, technical and physical safeguards to protect your information, but no system is completely secure. We keep information as long as we need it to provide our service and to meet legal, tax, billing and contract requirements.

Children

Our website is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information online. A parent, guardian or facility may request a ride for a child and give us the details needed for the trip.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. When we do, we will post the new version on this page with a new effective date.
